The main new features of this release are:
CATIA Connector version 17.1.18
Bug Fix - In some isolated cases, file name of CAD Documents can change across version. In this case, the following messages will appear when saving:
Saving is still possible, but users must contact PLM Support because corrective actions are required if the save action is done despite this message.
Note: When importing .cgr files for the first time ignore the messages. (you don't need to contact plm support)
Bug Fix - If a 3D model contains internal link issues that could cause CAD documents to be marked as "Not in PDM" in the CATIA tree, the save action is no longer blocked. A warning message is displayed instead, recommending that the user run CATDUA on the model.
Note: Migrated .cgr files will always be recognised by the connector now and will not trigger new version creation on saving.
Bug Fix - When using the Duplicate action from a Drawing, the message asking whether to duplicate the related 3D model is appearing again, also in the case the related 3D is not claimed.
Bug Fix - In case a part number contains the specific character "µ", the saving will no longer cause any BOM Sync error message.
STEP files conversion
Because STEP file conversions result may sometimes differ from the actual 3D model (for example, missing dependencies in an assembly, or topology issue), STEP conversion has been refactored as follows:
In the CAD Document profile card, two types of STEP conversions are now available:
- HOOPS STEP (.stp):
This is the default PLM-generated STEP file, automatically provided for all 3D CATIA files uploaded in the PLM. It is much faster to generate but may be less accurate in certain isolated cases. - Request CATIA STEP (.stp) file:
This option triggers, on demand, a STEP conversion generated by CATIA and provides full accuracy. However, depending on the size of the model, generation can take significantly longer.
The current timeout limit for this process is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Revit 2026 connector upgrade
The Revit connector will be available for Revit 2026.
To use it, please install the following CMF package (this package will be available in CMF once you have access to Revit 2026):
CERN - PLM Revit 2026 Plugin
Note: Starting in January 2026, new releases of the Revit Connector will support Revit 2026 only. As a result, the Revit Connector for Revit 2024 will no longer receive updates. However, you will still be able to use Revit 2024 with the existing Revit Connector 2024 if you do not need to migrate to Revit 2026.
Migration results improvements and cleaning
Auto promotion of Parts to Approved
For all migrated parts where all master CAD documents were approved but at least one non-master In Preparation child was preventing the part from being approved, the non-master (other than Skeleton, For Integration and Envelop) In Preparation children were moved to the Drafts, and the part was automatically promoted to Approved.
This fix unlocked a large number of Design Verification workflow checks.
- All PDF documents migrated as text files without native source files have been corrected.
- CAD Documents remigrated as Released for Catalog are now correctly flagged as catalog in the PLM.
- CERN Drawing Reference were missing in some migrated Euclid drawings. It is no longer the case.
- Discrepancies between SmarTeam projects and the corresponding migrated PLM folders have now been corrected.
Naming Portal Improvements
- The button previously labelled “Push to PLM” has been renamed to “Push code to CDD and PLM” to more clearly reflect its current behaviour.
- When using this button, the Design Code is now created in both CDD and PLM.
- Clicking on the Design Code now redirects the users to the PLM instead of the CDD admin page.
- The branch "Recognised Experiment" is now available and contains the AMS Experiment tree.
