In CATIA Drafting, when generating views from 3D parts, smooth transitions (such as fillets) can make drawings harder to read if too many edges are displayed.
To improve clarity, new curvature-based filtering options have been introduced in the 3D Smooth Edges Filter.
These options allow you to control which smooth edges are displayed based on their geometric continuity.
How to Use the 3D Smooth Edges Filter
Step 1: Create a Drawing View
In the Drafting workbench, generate a view from a 3D part that includes smooth transitions (e.g. fillets).
Step 2: Open View Properties
Right-click the view and select Properties, then go to the View tab.
Step 3: Apply the Smooth Edges Filter
In the Dress-up section, locate 3D Smooth Edges Filter and choose one of the following:

The Smooth Edges Filter is Cleared: Smooth edges are suppressed, removing fillets and continuous transitions from the view to simplify the geometry.

Curvature discontinuity (default): Shows only edges with noticeable breaks in curvature

Curvature limit: Filters edges based on a curvature threshold

All: Displays all smooth edges
Step 4: Validate and Compare
Click OK and observe how the view updates depending on the selected option.
Result
You can adjust the level of detail in your drawing views, making them either more readable or more detailed depending on your needs.
Note
Best results are obtained on clean and well-defined geometry (fully constrained sketches).
